PETTING BARNYARD

The Petting Barnyard is family friendly and features Sheep, Calves, Pygmy Goats, a Mini Donkey, a baby Camel, Llamas, a baby Wallaby, African Spur-thighed Tortoise and more. The Petting Barnyard is managed by Animal Enterprises based in Sadieville, Kentucky who provide a great educational experience with domestic animals and animals from around the world.

The Petting Barnyard is educational and will have information about all the animals on display. Animal Enterprise staff will be available to answer questions about the animals along with supervising all interactions with the animals stressing fun and safety. Many of the animals are very unique and their conditions are closely monitored by the staff.

Fairgoers will be able to interact with the animals and feed will be on sale so that families can feed the animals on display. Portable hand washing stations are also available to make it a safe and clean experience. As a special treat they will be able to ride Nacho the Dromedary Camel for an additional cost.

The Petting Barnyard is located in front of the Fayette County Agricultural Expo Center which is located on the grounds of the Bluegrass Fair and has become a showcase for 4-H / FFA members exhibiting livestock and other projects. One of the agricultural center’s purposes is to promote agriculture through education of the community regarding agricultural issues and providing a meeting place for those interested in agriculture.

The “Petting Barnyard” is free to see with admission to the Bluegrass Fair. Admission to this year’s Bluegrass Fair is only $6 per person with children 6 and under admitted free.
