Donations to the Lexington Lions Club help support community projects related to eye health, hearing and diabetes programs in the Lexington area. Funds also used for Lions activities in Kentucky and through Lions Clubs International.

Over the last decade, the club has contributed more than $1.6 million dollars for the purchase of eyeglasses and surgeries in Lexington, for assistance to a variety of local agencies helping those with vision and hearing problems, the establishment of a hearing aid bank and a retreat for adults and children, and support of state and international projects in these areas.

This year the Lexington Lions Club has earmarked from fair proceeds and its Lexington Lions Club Endowment, Inc. a total of approximately $150,000 for these programs. Included in this total are funds for the purchase of eyeglasses for needy children and adults in Fayette County. Some of the other programs that receive funds from the Lexington Lions Club are for eye surgeries, hearing aids and for Visually Impaired Pre-School Services. The remaining funds support the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation, the Lions Clubs International Foundation and various youth and camp programs of the Lions of Kentucky.
