Antique Tractor Show

The Bluegrass Fair is planning to present an “Antique Tractor” show which will be on display during the entire time July 12-22. Most of the classic tractors on display are on loan from area farmers or enthusiasts who want to carry on the tradition and keep in touch with the history of vintage farm machinery. For some it’s like collecting cars or motorcycles, but for most it brings back memories to a time where they first came in contact with farming, helping their “father” or “Grandpa” using the family tractor. Most tractors were used for general farming to help grow Tobacco, Corn or Hay and plowing the fields.

Many Antique Tractors” are known by their color whether it’s a red “Farmall”, a green “John Deere” a gray and blue “Ford” or Allis-Chalmers” and the orange “Minneapolis-Molin”.  Others were very distinctive in their color such as the early “Case” tractors that started out as orange and eventually ended up black and red.

Most tractors held an important role in changing the way agriculture and other work was conducted. Tractors that are scheduled to be on site at the 2012 Bluegrass Fair (partial list) are;
